Buyer Beware!

I am a 42 y.o. male who doesn't generally see reviews of beauty products geared toward men. After all, we like to look our best too.

I am a massage therapist and aromatherapist. I specialize in SPA treatments and essential oils and work with the best products I can find.

I purchased this product after watching several infommercials and deciding that I would like to see if this would have any benefit for my fine lines and wrinkles. I bought this product because of the price and the endorsement. After trying the product I have come to the conclusion that this product used as a microdermabrasion system is an impossibility.

The contents of the items do not look like they would last 30 days. The bottle and jars are small like travel sizes. The cream used for microdermabrasion comes in a jar that looks big on the outside but when you open it you will find that it is solid plastic with space left on top for the cream. In other words, the size of the jar is an illusion.

The facial wash smells very good and familiar to me so I looked at the ingredients. The smell comes from lavendar. I do not know the quality or quantity of the oils used in this facial wash but I do know that the quantity can't be much if they are in fact essential oils. It does not list essential oils on the label and could very well be just perfumed scents. There are of course other items listed which aren't good for your skin.

Before I talk about the attachments, I need to talk about the hand held unit itself. This is the backbone of the microdermabrasion system. The unit itself vibrates instead of rotates whatever attachment you use. Instead of a rotating head this has more of a jackhammer method of vibrating up and down. When you exfoliate you need to have something moving in a direction and not pulsate. The vibration from the handle made my fingers tingly and a bit numb. The sensation was felt all the way to my shoulder.

The brush that is used for the facial wash has very soft, long bristles. Since the head does not rotate, the bristles simply sit on top of the skin and do nothing. You can not under any circumstances create a lather because the bristles do not move. Not to mention that the bristles are so soft, all they do is bend. I had to move the head across my face and scrub which still didn't work because as I mentioned the bristles are too soft.

The cream that you use also can not be of any benefit because again, the head does not rotate. I was actually laughing while trying to apply the cream to my face. I still had to move the head around and work the crystals into my skin. I was careful to use light pressure as I have read that the crystals can get stuck in your pores. I did break out after using the cream.

The rest of the kit comes with a night time cream to reduce fine lines and a daily spf cream which is simply good common sense. I was hoping to be able to recommend this product for men who simply want to take better care of their skin but I am unable to do so with this product. I have read reviews of guthy renker not refunding money and still processing the autopay after it was cancelled by the customer, so BEWARE.

Any review that you see which puts this product in a positive light can not be written by a customer. I write fair reviews and I look for the good in a product. I will tell you that I do not believe Susan Lucci uses this product and since I know the infommercial industry and how easy it is to get celebrity endorsement, I would stake my reputation on the fact that she has very good genes to start with along with the fact that she is lean and healthy.

The insanity of celebrity endorsements for products they do not use in their personal life needs to stop. They make their money by deception and people are left just a bit more jaded. I welcome any questions and can be reached at JMRecommends a t y ahoo.
