0 for 3 - Cheap Cheap Cheap

Although this product is a great concept, if it breaks after several months, it's not worth it. My story is this... I'd been looking for an air purifier for quite some time and finally settled on the XJ-3000 which was the best of all purifiers because it delivered numerous air filtration methods. I wanted two of them - one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I ordered one brand new from an online vendor and I bought a used one on an online auction site. The new one arrived promptly but it was dead on arrival. A little bummed, I emailed the online vendor who was very good to work with and they sent a new one out right away. It arrived and it worked fine for about 4 months. Then, for no reason, the only fan speed it would work on was low, the sanitizer only worked on low and the timer didn't work at all. It was as though it was frozen. I again called the online vendor and although it was out of warranty, they refunded my money (good for them). Now for the story of the used one I bought from an online auction site. It worked for almost 6 months exactly and then I opened up the filter compartment to vacuum the filter which was covered with dust (as it should have been). After putting it back together, it wouldn't power on at all. After pulling it apart and fiddling with it for an hour (I'm a pretty good fiddler) I concluded it belonged in the garbage. This is my 0 for 3 story on the Surround Air XJ3000C. Great concept but the product is cheap and is a huge disappointment - so much so that I felt compelled to write this epinion (which is my first).
