Just breathing, it took no time to notice the air quality improvement.

The Bottom Line: Buy first, it works, well made and costs less. If you decide to get a more expensive type, put this on your refrigerator, or give it to a friend.
Review: I was very sceptical of the XJ-2000, but it does seem the most popular on the internet. A look at epinions shows a wide variance of opinions. So, a couple clarifications. The 12v 10w power supply does get hotter than one would expect, but it's not...

Cheaply made, mediocre results, awful ozone smell

The Bottom Line: If you want a real air cleaner, you're just going to have to pay for a real air cleaner. Stick with the well known brands.
Review: I'm not sure why anybody would rate this product 5 stars. Either they don't have any other basis for comparison or they have some other motivation which is beside me. This is one of those "you get what you pay for" purchases.

Best bang for buck

The Bottom Line: I would recommend the XJ 2000 or another ionizer to everyone to improve the air quality you breathe.
Review: I was sceptical at first when I saw the ionizer infomercials on TV, so instead of buying one from there, I purchased the cheaper XJ 2000 from a seller on eBay.

Contrary to my beliefs, the unit works very well! Within a day of plugging it...

Design Change!!

Review: Beware. They use the same exact same model #.
I was impressed with the 1st one and later decided to get 3 additional units.
The model # is still XJ-2000 BUT they have added 2 small fans and GREATLY reduced the power to just a trickle.
