Super Smash Bros Melee for GameCube

Well.....let's see there are many things to be shown in this but most of you know well on how great this game is but what about some of these characters i want to know who think is the best character and why. Also with all the characters everyone have a special move. I basically think Marth has the best special move and that's his counter if you use your counter before your enemy attacks and you will attack with twice the force which is really good but anyways to the main point. who do you think is the best character and why?

My favorite character is Link is there is a really good reason Link is both good at attack and defence but lacks speed. I am so far the best around my town and to syracuse, NY well i've entered 45 tournaments and won all incept 1 and that was due to a minor mistake i made well you heard about me well what about you?
