5891 Breadmaker

Date of Review:  Jan 14, 2006
Review: I received a Sunbeam 5891 Breadmaker for Xmas and am very upset with it and my 1st loaf of bread from scratch. I made a 2 lb wheat loaf and it rose to the top and then some of the machine and what a mess to clean as the soft spongy bread clung to...

You get what you pay for

Date of Review:  Oct 28, 2008
The Bottom Line: This is a good entry level bread maker
Review: I paid $58 for the Sunbeam 5891 bread maker at walmart. I bought this because it was the cheapest bread maker I could find. I got it home and the first thing I did was make a regular loaf of white bread. The machine is rather bulky and takes up a...

Sunbeam 5891 - It Is a Must in Our House

Date of Review:  Feb 4, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you are a sucker for a good fresh bread, buy it. Easy to use and inexpensive. Impress your friends with good bread.
Review: I moved to the US from Europe and I am deeply in love with this country and its inhabitants. The only thing I cannot stand is American bread. It is a biggest wonder for me why to make bread you need to include 50 ingredients and why it tastes so...

Returned to store after 2 days. Not impressed

Date of Review:  Jan 31, 2007
Review: This machine looks nice and is a good brand. Sleek, clean look to leave on counter top. I attempted 2 loaves and neither turned out. During the second loaf the machine shut down and would not turn back on. I was disappointed. The LCD is hard to read...

Breadman TR2500BC dead, Sunbeam 5891 replacement

Date of Review:  Aug 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: Does what you want, makes bread, does that well. Simple no frills operation. User manual stinks. Use some else's for recipes. Remember Measure correctly.
Review: My Breadman TR2500BC died read that report for more information.
Replaced it today with the Sunbeam 5891.
Ok it is simple to use, no user defined menus, book sucks big time. Doesn't give times of cycles except basic one only.
So if...

Blade Sticks

Date of Review:  Aug 13, 2008
Review: Recently purchased this machine to try and offset the high costs of buying bread from the store. I have only made 3 loaves so far, and they have all turned out great. EXCEPT for the small problem of the kneading blade always gets baked into the...

Nice for the price

Date of Review:  Sep 11, 2007
The Bottom Line: Buy this if you want a cheap bread maker that will last. Mine has proven its worth over and over.
Review: I bought this about a year ago and make about 3-4 loaves a week. It had some wobble issues on my unlevel counter but a piece of cardboard fixed that right up. This really is a good machine for the money. I would recommend it to anyone who likes...

No Problems at All

Date of Review:  Sep 23, 2007
Review: My husband bought me the 5891 for Christmas almost 2 years ago, and I absolutely love it. I bake at least one loaf a week (there's not much need for more than that with just the two of us).I've used almost all the settings on it (except for the jam...

Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker

Date of Review:  Mar 6, 2007
Review: In my opinion the durability of the Sunbeam 5891 is nothing short of terrible. After using this machine for about a year, it is completely worn out. The shaft bearing has deteriorated to the point that the shaft is now turning metal on metal. As the...

Too dark and crusty

Date of Review:  Jan 19, 2006
Review: After making bread from scratch for many years, I decided to try a bread machine. I like the shape of the loaf and the ease of making it. I don't like the fact that I can't adjust the length of baking time. Even on the light setting the crust on the...
