Author's Review
I moved to the US from Europe and I am deeply in love with this country and its inhabitants. The only thing I cannot stand is American bread. It is a biggest wonder for me why to make bread you need to include 50 ingredients and why it tastes so awful. Buying good bread became expensive, so I tried making my own. I sucked at it. After making a terrible mess in the kitchen a few times and wasting products, I gave up... Until my friend recommended me the SunBeam 5891 Bread Machine. I was more than skeptical at first, but since I was desperate I bought it.
I honestly think that these $50 that I invested in it were the best investment I have ever made.
The machine is very easy to use, no matter what you are making. The book, which comes with it doesn't have many recipes, but there are literary thousands of them on the Internet.
It is so easy, that you don't even have to mix anything, the machine does it for you.
It takes about 3 hours to make a loaf of bread (unless you use express-bake) and you don't need to buy bread flour; regular all-purpose works just fine. You can experiment with bread - add spices, raisins, cranberries, garlic or even chocolate - be creative.
The machine is easy to clean and it beeps when your bread is ready, so you don't have to check it every 10 minutes (big plus for me!)
Needless to say my house smells wonderful and I don't complain about American bread anymore. And my friends think that I am cool, because I bake my own bread (well, they don't need to know that SunBeam does it for me).
