Powerful & Noisy But Works Well...

I purchased the Sunbeam Heritage 2349 Stand Mixer about two years ago at a discount store for a little more than $80. I'd always wanted a stand mixer, but wasn't about to shell out a few hundred dollars on a Kitchen Aid, especially since I'd never used a stand mixer before and I wasn't sure if it'd really be used a lot. I can truly say, I've got my money's worth.

My mixer is red and came with two sizes of stainless bowls, dough hooks, whisk beaters, and regular beaters. I love the style, and if I had the room, I'd leave it out all the time. It is rather heavy though, and I don't care to have to move it often.

I've used this mixer for many things, and it's a very easy product to use. You simply click a button on the side of the mixer to stand the top up. You insert the hooks or beaters by the red and white color coding on the ends of the accessories. You then click the button on the side again to lower the top of the mixer into the bowl. There is a dial on the side of the mixer with a list of settings from whipping to kneading, and beating. A simple turn of the wrist and the mixer is working it's magic.

I've made many cakes, dozens upon dozens of cookies, icings, pizza dough, and other delicious dishes. It's been a true time saver when I have large batches of items I need to make, or recipes that call for kneading, as I LOVE the dough hooks and the kneading setting on the mixer.

As far as the actual performance, I'd say this mixer works rather well. It does serve it's purpose and always mixes, kneads and beats whatever it is I'm making. I do get frustrated though as the it seems the mixer actually has more power than the body of the mixer can stand. No matter what setting I'm using, the bowls shake as though they aren't tightly held onto the base of the stand. I've had times where I'm using the highest setting and the mixer actually started moving across the counter top because it was mixing faster than it could handle. Also, this product is extremely noisy which is just rather annoying.

Overall, despite the noise and the massive power of this mixer, it serves it's function which is what I really need in such a product. I would recommend it as a great mixer for someone who does occasional baking in large amounts. It's really a good product for a first time owner of a stand mixer. The Sunbeam Heritage Stand Mixer was completely worth it's cost.
