Pros: Tight, quality construction and unique design with excellent handling
Cons: wind noise, really heavy tailgate
The Bottom Line: This is a great cross over vehicle - rugged and more useful than an SUV and handles beautifully and it looks good!
Review: OK, let's get the boring stuff out of the way, first! The following are the specs for anyone that is so inclined. 2003 Baja Standard Equipment and Specs Power and Performance 2.5L H-4 165 HP engine 4-spd automatic transmission w/OD 90 amp ...

Pros: Great handling, comfy ride, flexible cargo area
Cons: Position of cupholders & armrest, MPG
The Bottom Line: Once you get past the looks, you'll love it. But get it with the bed extender and SnugTop!
Review: When my wife and I set out to buy a new car, we had already narrowed it down to a Subaru. They came highly recommended by friends and coworkers, test drives of the various models left us impressed with their handling, and we noted seeing an ...

2005 Subaru Baja Turbo

Pros: Boxer turbo. Built quality. AWD with limited slip rear.
Cons: Funky styling with cladding on body. No leather w/o auto trans.
The Bottom Line: Every bit as useful as a traditional pick up for the average person. Turbo with a 5 speed is more fun than most any pick up out there.
Review: Our requirements for a new vehicle were tough. 1., It had to be able to be flat towed behind our motorhome. 2. It needed off road and truck like abilities. 3. It needed to be fun to drive. Not much out there that fills the bill. Others cars owned: ...

An Interesting Blend of a Sedan and Truck

Pros: Functionality. Subaru durability. Uniqueness. Gas mileage
Cons: Pricey for its class. Few options to customize the vehicle.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Baja, it complements my family's lifestyle. If you are looking for a durable, versatile vehicle, then you should take the time to check it out.
Review: I purchased a 2003 Baja just over 6 weeks ago. As an owner of two other Subarus (Outback wagon and Legacy sedan), I have extensive knowledge of this particular Subaru chassis. However on the other hand, the reader should be aware that I am biased toward ...

Pros: Handles like a sports car. Useful like no other vehicle. attention grabber. Fun!
Cons: Could do better on mileage. Noise from mirrors, sunroof, and front cross bar.
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you are outdoorsy. Don't if you need a vehicle to prove your manliness. Useful but not macho.
Review: Hello again reviewers, My little Baja is about to hit 30k on the odometer and it only seems like I was test driving it yesterday. They grow up so fast. Yes, I'm going on like it was my child. But this is the first vehicle I have actually really ...

Great car/ truck

Pros: I would have to say its All Wheel Drive and the versatility of it.
Cons: Ground clearance could be better and the speedometer is off 4 miles/hour
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car/truck to any one who wants a "throw and go" payload, small truck that will grab the road in any conditions.
Review: I got a black Subaru Baja 2003 over 6 months ago. I live on a farm in Wisconsin we have a few full size trucks that I have drove all my life, so when I got a job in the city I did not want a big full truck to suck gas just to get to work. I still wanted ...

Pros: quality, all wheel drive, excellent handling
Cons: expensive, not really a truck
The Bottom Line: The unique Subaru Baja is worth a look. It is a quality car/truck that handles well and can haul items other SUVs and cars can't.
Review: I just purchased a 2003 Subaru Baja about a week ago, and while it is probably just "new car euphoria," so far I am very happy with it. It is classified as a truck, but handles like a car. It is built on Subaru's "Legacy, Outback" chassis and handles ...

Pros: Both Truck and Sports Sedan
Performance
AWD
Ground clearance
Price
Cons: Mileage (22MPG)
Rear visibility
Only seats four
Ugly
Low beams
The Bottom Line: If you want the best in AWD and can live with 4 seats add a bed cover for the best price/performance ratio in a sport sedan under 25K.
Review: Sorry for sticking this in the 2003 section but there is no 2004 listing for the Baja. Why the Baja? I am still trying to answer this question. Our new home is in the woods with 1/2 mile rutted dirt road. After the first snow the minivan was ...

Pros: UNIQUE, DRIVES LIKE A CAR, HIGH-QUALITY INTERIOR
Cons: MILEAGE;VERY NOISY WHEN SUNROOF OR WINDOWS ARE OPEN
The Bottom Line: I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND A SUBARU BAJA
FEELING OF SAFETY /HANDLES INCREDIBLY / VERY NICE-LOOKING VEHICLE
Review: We have never had so much attention drawn to ourselves since buying this vehicle We bought ours (black/silver) in Mar/04. The wife of the dealership owner had been driving it, so it had 3,000 kilometers on it. We had done most of our ...

Pros: Low center of gravity, good traction management, great gas mileage
Cons: cup holder placement in the front is a little awkward with a manual transmission.
Review: I've had my 2003 Baja for about 6 months now, and I still love it. I've recently moved to the icy cold of Wyoming, where snow, wind, and ice are often prevalent, making for some potentially dangerous driving conditions, which make the wonderful defrosting ...
