2002 Forester L - Snow Mobile

This has been a SUPER RELIABLE car. I currently have 67,453 miles on it with ZERO problems other than the O2 Sensor was replaced under warranty twice.

I have had ALL recommended maintenance done at the Subaru dealer including the Transmission Flush that cost $220.00. I did this under the recommendation of the dealership but I had JUST began to notice a difference in the shifts under hard acceleration. Mind you, the "difference" was so slight most people would have not even noticed it at all but I did. AFTER the trans fulsh this completely went away and now the car shifts like a dream.

I am really impressed by the Subaru Forester. The reliability is nothing short of AMAZING. Nothing has gone wrong and My wife and I have taken several road trips in excess of 4000 miles with no problems.

The car also drives GREAT, handeling is amazing and on par with sports cars. We lived in the mountains for a while and the mountain roads were great fun in this car.

On one occasion the ABS Breaks saved us from a 50mph impact with a Ford Truck that ran through a red light on a highway. I JUST noticed him out of the corner of my eye as we were passing through the intersection under our green light. I NAIL the brakes, the ABS Kicks in bringing the car to an immediate halt (we were going about 15 mph) He was really moving, obviously did not see the red light he was about to run. Suddenly he locks up his brakes and screeches through the intersection. JUST grazing the front of our Subaru so faintly you could barely feel it. I am in a state of disbelief as to what just happened. After this occurred I got out inspecting the front expecting it to see extreme damage only to find a very faint scratch mark on the front grill that you can hardly notice. If the Subaru had NOT have had excellent ABS, we might have skidded forward another 1 Inch and the entire front end, engine and all would have been totally destroyed.

I'll also add that the Subaru Forester goes through snow like you would not believe! Great example: We had planned to attend a wedding in Florida, we woke up at our home in NC to find 2 FEET of SNOW. Yes I measured it, 2 FEET. I was very concerned about driving in this much snow but my wife would not take NO for an answer so we gave it a shot.

We had to drive out of the mountains so we're talking about STEEP hills and turns in 2 feet of snow with NO PLOWING in our area...

The Subaru drove RIGHT THROUGH IT LIKE A CHAMP! I was SO IMPRESSED with what this car could do! I never once felt like the car was getting away from me. There is NO WAY a normal car would have made it through even with chanis...

The Subaru Forester is one amazing SNOW MOBILE.
