Need a 4wd sports sedan? Can't afford that audi A6 or BMW 530i? That Audi A4 or BMW 325Xi too small for your tastes? Try a Subaru Legacy GT, or GT Limited on for size. That's right, a Subaru!
This car is beautifully detailed. The interior is super-high quality and features a lot more luxury than you would expect for the price, especially on GT Limited models that feature leather, sunroof, wood trim, a/c, CD stereo, and more standard and for under $30,000. The interior is roomy enough for 4 adaults and one child (seated in the middle of the back seat) and is extremely comfortable for long road trips.
This car is also great for ski trips and other bad weather situations. The standard AWD system never gives up, so you don't lose any traction and you can continue on your way. The Legacy was not designed for offroad, even the Outback wasn't, so don't take it offroad unless your idea of offroad is muddy farmroads. The Impreza (the legacy's little brother) can ventur off-road a bit because it was designed to be a rally car.
The handling is a dream. It is like a BMW 5 series or Audi A6 on a budget. The only thing un-bmwish abotu it is the power. Power is adequete with the 5 speed manual, which I highly reccomend because of its smooth shifts and great control, but with the 4 speed auto it feels a bit sluggish. The car tracks beautifully on road and will never let go do to the AWD.
The Legacy GT will be my next new car purchase.
