reliable, dependable, fun !

We have owned our '98 Outback Sport since '99, put 172000 miles on it, and can't say enough good things about it. We live in central Vermont- I work at the Killington ski resort part-time in the winter and my wife drives my son 70 miles round trip to school, which includes two trips over the pass at Middlebury Gap (2300'). I drove this car until last year when I bought another Subie for myself and let my wife have this one full time. It has never let us down. I do all my own oil changes (synthetic only) and have had the timing belt changed according to schedule. The only non-routine problems we've had are: plug wires at 25k (warranty). Yup, that's it. I just had the original clutch replaced at 171k and have had the brakes and O2 sensors done as needed. We have run Cooper Weathermaster tires (good grip but wandered a lot in the mud), Hancook, Dunlop (stock tires) and recently went with Kumhos. I did step down to a 195/65 to get a narrower profile for the snow. All worked well. Gas mileage is between 25 and 30 depending on time of year and type of travel.
