Incredibly, It's Worth Every Penny

by   jillny ,  Aug 29, 2005
Pros: Really keeps things cold. Looks great; easy to clean.
Cons: It's still pretty darn expensive.
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, buy it.
Review: I entered into the SubZero world very reluctantly. I was remodeling my kitchen back in 2000 and, it being a galley kitchen, was limited in terms of space. The final design required a refrigerator that sat at counter-depth (24"). I researched and ...

If you can afford it, go for it!

by   zeecee ,  Mar 17, 2001
Pros: It's attractive, roomy, and frozen food is truly frozen
Cons: Expensive. We've had some mechanical problems
The Bottom Line: It was the surprise improvement in our food life as it keeps food fresh and frozen food frozen in a way I'd never experienced.
Review: After many years of living with apartment provided refrigerators, we were renovating our kitchen and faced with the decision of appliances. The refrigerator was of little interest to me as I'd neve discerned any major differences among those I'd used....

Well Worth The Money!

by   kvero ,  Oct 6, 2000
Pros: Freezer on the bottom, ability to place cabinet panels on the front.
Cons: Very expensive.
Review: I bought this refrigerator 6 months ago as part of a total renovation of my kitchen and cannot say enough wonderful things about it. Although a bit pricey compared to the other refrigerators I looked at, to me it was money well spent. After looking at...

love it!

by   porppal ,  Nov 29, 2006
Pros: gorgeous & practical
Cons: expensive, expensive, expensive
Review: I did a lot of research on refrigerators & at first was very wary to spend soooo much money. But this has been a fabulous purchase. I love it; it's beautiful, works really well, is unobstrusive in size & sound, & is easy to clean. I'll never go back. ...

It's okay, not what I had hoped for...

by   sierra4 ,  Nov 21, 2004
Pros: It's pretty and impressive looking but...
Cons: Needs separate freezer and fridge controls. Is expensive to run and maintain. Never again.
The Bottom Line: Hard to clean, maintain the coils at ceiling height; too many service calls for motor problems, temperature control and replacement for door shelf breakage. Not worth the cost.
Review: I have the refrigerator top and the freezer on the bottom. It came highly recommended however it is not an item to have if you need to get something from the back of the bottom of the freezer and you have bad knees. Even the maid has to sit on the floor ...

Not for the Physically Challenged

by   proudpeacock ,  Aug 25, 2005
Pros: Lots of Storage for the Size, Keeps food Fresh
Cons: Extremely Poor Customer Support. Doors are VERY hard to open.
The Bottom Line: Despite the high price, the willingness of the manufacturer to work with the customer to resolve problems is poor, and the door requires a good amount of strength to open.
Review: Full Review We recently did an extensive kitchen remodeling job and found ourselves "boxed into a corner" needing a refrigerator of a very specific size and shape, and found that the only apparent solution was to choose a Sub-Zero 611 model. The ...

Beware of Sub- Zeros

by   andrew8198 ,  Jan 31, 2005
Pros: Looks great in a custom kitchen.
Cons: Terrible machine. Does not work. A huge money pit.
Review: I have four Sub-zero refrigerators in my home, including one 24 inch high freezer. This freezer has only given me problems. First the door was not closing properly so I had to pay $250 for a new door closer. Then I was told I needed to replace the seal ...
