Comprehensive

STREET RODDER is the most comprehensive of all monthly street rod publications. Back when "just interested" in street rods, I, like some others, felt that it was too heavy with commercial advertisements but my opinion has changed. Looking at pictures of others' street rods and events was my primary focus when "just interested" and the advertisement space seemed to be a waste.

When the decision and opportunity presented itself to get directly involved with my own project, my years of scanning pictures bore fruit in my decision making. Now that I have my own project underway, the volume of advertisements makes sense and I spend more time reading them and gaining knowledge from them than the pictures and write ups of the rods of others.

The technical articles are well done and are also very welcomed with a project underway. One of the features that SR began several years ago was an annual project of building up one of the nostalgic engines. I am now doing exactly that for my rod and the annual project which was initially a motivator, is now an invaluable source of knowledge for parts and sources of service.
