Author's Review
I purchased a new Bluestar range because I love to cook and I wanted the 22K BTUs. l also liked the way the range looked. Unfortunately the range leaked gas from the minute it was installed. Bluestar has had repairmen out on numerous occations, but the range is still leaking gas. They come out, say they fix the problem, then I smell gas again. I call out the gas company to check for leaks. The gas company then has me shut off the gas line (it is off now and I can not use the range).
Another problem is that they apparently do not have many people set up to service the range. The company they were using is located a long way away, so service was not prompt.
After the second repair visit, a service agent gave me an extra warranty because of all the problems. This morning when I called to find out why I was not hearing from the service company, Matt at BlueStar told me that John, who I had worked with before, was no longer there, and that the extra warranty that had been given to me "was a mistake" and would not be honored. In addition, Bluestar will not continue to fix the range, even though it has never worked properly. Matt appealed to Mike (VP), who said he would not authorize any further service. (The range was purchased last June, but not installed in my new kitchen until earlier this year),
The bottom line is I bought a boutique product from a very small company located a long way from where I live, and they will not fix their product. The product was never right, and has never been fixed. Recourse is difficult as they are located a long way from where I live. I am very dissapointed in the quality of the range, and the response of BlueStar. And now I am looking at one more week end without a working range and we have company coming. I wish I had never heard of BlueStar.
