This is a very nice crib

My mother bought me this crib for my latest born son (Feb 6th this year) and I am very pleased with it. It has the look of a "sleigh" style bed. It is beautiful.

The crib was packaged well, everything was included, we weren't missing anything. It was in perfect condition and the instructions were in a really great place on the underside of the "bunky board", I guess you would call it. (the board that goes under the mattress) First I noticed that is made of "real" wood not some junky press board or pine. It is solid oak. The assembly was easy, my husband had it together in a half hour or so.
The drawer is sturdy and I use it for just about everything. I store extra wipes, items that I can't use yet, such as toys and clothes that do not fit him yet. I also store clothes that he as grown out of to go to the consignment shop. The side rail moves up and down smoothly. The side rail has a plastic shield on top of it so that when baby is big enough to stand he won't be able to eat the wood off the rail.

This crib has the option of going from a crib, to a day bed, to a full size bed. So it will be with us forever and it was a good use of money. Those 3 beds put together would cost more than 3 times the price that this crib is.

There were a few things that were on the negative side. It is a little tricky to put sheets on the crib mattress because the sides of the crib are paneling. There aren't any slats on the sides like there are in the front and the back so you have to pull the mattress out to make sure the sheet is on the mattress completely. The other problem was the fact that I had ordered a crib bedding set that included the bumper pad that goes along the inside of the crib. Well you can't tie the bumper to this crib on the sides because of the paneling as well. Also there is a large section of board in the center of the back portion of the crib and you can't tie a bumper around that either. We had to skip the ties on the side of the crib and we actually "taped" it to the center back panel of the board that is in the middle.
The side panels seem a little thin, so I am concerned that when my son gets a little bigger and a little stronger, will he be able to break them with a good kick? So, we'll see.

Other than that the crib is beautiful (the wood is gorgeous) and it is sturdy. I love the extra storage space especially because this crib is in my bedroom with my entire bedroom set. It is actually prettier than my own furniture, embarrassing...
