Author's Review
My Favorite Multi-Faceted singers
With a number of singers dwelving into different types of music styles, it's easy to come up with a list of r&b artists who rap. Even for the most un-musically inclined person such as myself, I can pull out a list extremely fast. I don't listen to music that much, infact I only have just over 20 cds, while my brother has well over 40.
Cibo Matto, no exception to the groups that do more than one genre, has to be my favorite however. Cibo Matto is 2 japanese females, and I believe 2 "white males?" that do their background music, and help with the vocals on some songs. With their heavily Japanese accented voices, they do everything from sing love songs, to sing rap songs, to singing french songs.
Stereo Type With An A, I got to get the sh-- straight!
Stereo type A, A is what this record deserves. A cd that is like a cross between a rap album, and a soulful r&b singers album, that artistically displays the singers pain, and the singers happiness. Also, shows us what the artist thinks of the world in general.
Not to mention, cibo matto's voices take us to a whole new level in music. Their accents, blend in with their great singing ability, to create totally awesome, infectious songs.
A few examples of good songs
Well, I couldn't write a review, without giving you the names of some of my favorite songs. From the Stereo Type A album, specifically, my favorite songs are: Sci-Fi Wasabi, Moonchild, and Working For Vacation.
First
Working For Vacation, and Sci-Fi Wasabi are rap songs. They have weird, but catchy beats, and lyrics that catch the ear, and captivate the mind. One listen to Sci-Fi Wasabi will have you singing, Wassup b wasabi! I'm searchin the city, for sci-fi wasabi!
Second
Moonchild seems to be a star-stricken girls lament, about a love she couldn't have. With sharp, beautifully sang lyrics, that are backed by a very beautiful, and soft on the ears, background music. So well sung, that it makes my list of best songs, and puts cibo matto on my list of best song writers.
Wasabi!
Well, I think the girls definitely deserve a great deal of credit for this album. It hasn't sold nearly enough, specially concerning the quality of the album. I suggest that if you want some great music, to check this group out. Their artistry will impress you, and their songs will infect you.
