Stargate the original

I have always been a science fiction fanatic. When I saw this movie at the theater, I have to say that I enjoyed it. The plot is straight forward and keeps the interest of a movie goer who watches the beginning of a movie and remembers the fine nuances that will help explain the action of the characters later on in the movie.

The movie is about a literary scientist that is recruited by a top secret government project to help decipher the hieroglyphics on an ancient relic.
Once the "code" has been broken, of course the government has to have their had in it as well. A team of explorers, more like soldiers, are sent thru the gate to see if the other side is hostile. Taken the scientist with them, they find that once on the other side they don't know how to get home. They come across an ancient type of culture and also some major bad guys.

Stargate is an intriguing movie and a bit comical. It made me listen to every piece of dialog in order not to miss anything of importance;however, it also made me laugh about the things we take for granted.

I would suggest that if you love science fiction or enjoy movies with a decent plot you should watch this movie.
