Fire Blast from the Past - Spyro the Dragon on PS3

by   shopaholic_man ,  Jun 1, 2008
Pros: Even way back when, Insomniac games were awesome.
Cons: No cons to Spyro, he is as fun today as he was then.
The Bottom Line: Spyro is one Playstation One game that holds up to the test of time.
Review: PS3 is awesome. While playing Ratchet and Clank Future, my son and I thought about how far video games had come. EA games may be one of the biggest studios, but to us, Insomnniac was always one of our favorites. Way back, before their fantastic ...

A hero is born...

by   l4h4002 ,  Jan 26, 2007
Pros: A vast World to explore, comical enemies, great music
Cons: Too short, not very challenging
The Bottom Line: Spyro is a ride like no other... a bit short, but definitely sweet...
Review: In an age and time when RPGs cloud the game universe, it’s hard to find a fun game to just sit down and enjoy as a game, not worrying about the storyline or character development. That's why this is a marvel... that even after 8 years, Spyro the ...

Silly for Spyro.

by   Freak369 ,  Feb 7, 2000
Pros: Excellent graphics, great backround music, easy to get extra lives.
Cons: Audio quality could be better, some levels are extremely difficult to solve. The instruction booklet gives a minimal overview of the game itself. Unlike Spyro II there is no map available to view while playing the game.
Review: Having burned out 2 Playstations so far (between the brood and myself) I like to consider my household fairly "game aware" (a polite term for addicted). We have about 25 games that range from learning to trivia to spy / 'shoot 'em up' games....

The First Spyro Game

by   mfluderx ,  Feb 25, 2008
Pros: good story, great character!
Cons: cannot think of any
The Bottom Line: An amazing game! too bad insomniac gave spyro away later on.
Review: Spyro the dragon is the second best Spyro game in the series. Behind only "Year of the Dragon", this game is only #2 because there are more abilities in "Spyro: Year of the Dragon." ~The Story~ There are five dragon families, and they each live ...

Little purple dude with attitude

by   Charlene27 ,  Aug 25, 2000
Pros: Easily played by kids
Cons: Time consuming
Review: My daughter started playing video games when she was 4 years old and got bored with them very quickly because a lot of them were too hard for her to play.

After buying numerous Nintendo games for her we decided to get a Sony Playstation...

The sore-thumb game

by   seacow ,  Oct 29, 2000
Pros: Fun game
Cons: can be difficult at times
Review: Believe it or not, I actually got a sore thumb from playing this game. I'll get to that later, though. You play this game as a small dragon that has to free the adult dragons. You also have to collect jewels scattered throughout each world. Freeing...

Super Spyro's Original

by   smartone86 ,  Aug 21, 2003
Pros: Easy to learn, entertaining, can spend hours playing it
Cons: Almost for certain need a memory card, not much to do after you beat it
The Bottom Line: Anyone will love this game, but watch the clock! Time flies by twice as fast when playing!
Review: This was one of my first video games for Playstation. I was able to figure it out though with no di ...

A great game for all gamers (revised)

by   gerper ,  Jun 18, 2000
Pros: Smooth control, excellent graphics, nice soundtrack
Cons: Spryo's voice is a bit irritating
Review: "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Well, that can also be said for video games, especially Playstation's Spyro the Dragon from a company called Insomniac. From looking at the cover of this game, you'd think that it is just for kids....

Gotta Love Spyro!

by   kjspookie ,  Feb 4, 2000
Pros: Very simple for the younger ones to play
Cons: None
Review: My husband and I purchased PlayStation for our five year old son. We also purchased many games for him but the one he has the easiest and most enjoyable time playing is Spyro the Dragon. Most of the other games require a lot of jumping and out running...

Spyro is fun for all ages

by   Beawriter ,  Jan 13, 2000
Pros: Cute dragon, fun enemies, easy to learn
Cons: repetitive
Review: I got Spyro for Playstation for Christmas from my son. I started playing it right away even before I got the memory card which costs extra. At first it seemed very hard but then I got the knack of flying and gliding and using my power run. I liked...
