Pros: She can sing her ???? off. Major earworms. Angel, I Will Be, Whatever It Takes.
Cons: She has all the personality of wood putty.
The Bottom Line:
I hope personality implants can be invented before she finishes her next album. Review: Televised reality competition shows latch their hooks into me every now and then, and refuse to let go. I shrieked with joy when David Cook won American Idol last year. When McKey Sullivan took the title of America’s Next Top Model ...

A Diva is Born (or is that Delivered?) |
|||
|
Pros: That voice, generally strong production, no hip hop collaborations.
Cons: Will it sell 'across the pond'? Ballad heavy.
The Bottom Line: Better than expected, "Spirit" is a good but not great debut album.
Review: Do you remember where you were when you first heard Whitney? Do you remember where you were when you first heard Mariah? How about Christina?I do and I will always be able to remember where I was when I first heard Leona Lewis. ...

Leona Lewis: If You Want The Old Mariah Back...Here's An Acceptable Substitute |
|||
|
Pros: A handful of meticulously crafted, hooky pop songs.
Cons: No soul. Cringe-inducing ballads.
The Bottom Line: I don't hate or even dislike Leona Lewis' "Spirit". It's well-manufactured, but also corporate and soulless-as you would expect from Simon Cowell.
Review: It would be very easy to dismiss British singer Leona Lewis as pop product, because...well, that's exactly what she is. Discovered on Simon Cowell's U.K. show "X Factor" and signed to Clive Davis's J Records, you couldn't find a better setup to deliver ...

Pros: --
Cons: --
The Bottom Line: Downloading the singles is a better idea than buying the whole album.
Review: NOTE: Review Was Inspired By Rolling Stone.com Short Reviews.(This Album Is In My Best 25 Mainstream Albums of 2008)Leona Lewis's voice is killer, kind of reminiscent of the young Whitney Houston or the ...

Pros: Excellent vocals, a few breathtaking songs, good showcase of emotion and personality.
Cons: Too many ballads, some songs too generic.
The Bottom Line: Mixed bag of good and bad singles. I would just buy the songs you like on Itunes because the bad songs are not worth the money.
Review: I was first exposed to Leona Lewis by watching many of her "X-Factor" performances on youtube and was absolutely blown away. I couldn't wait to hear her perform some original songs. Upon listening to "Spirit," it is clear that she possesses one of the ...

Pros: The girl has pipes, her voice do things most of only dream of.
Cons: She sounds too much like Mariah Carey. So much it is almost eerie.
The Bottom Line: I love her voice, I love the songs but I've heard it all before.
Review: I heard of Leona Lewis, winner of BritianÂ’s X Factor (a variation of American Idol), a few months ago. So a day or so before he album dropped I decided to see what I could find on YouTube. I was blown away when I saw her performances. Her voice is ...

Pros: First couple of tracks on the CD and even that is a stretch.
Cons: The album has no soul, no personality.
The Bottom Line: My advice to Ms. Lewis: next time around leave Mariah at home and bring your voice and personality to the musical table.
Review: Original Release Date: April 08, 2008 Genre: Popular Label: J-Records Number of Discs: (1) I wanted to believe. I wanted to like Ms. Leona Lewis the exotic and beautiful 23-year old Brit from London, England, who is ...

Leona Lewis: A(nother) Disposable Diva Is Born

|
Pros: "Bleeding Love" is a decent single, and parts of the vocal deliveries are enjoyable.
Cons: The songs are melodically rotten, and Leona needs to develop her own singing style.
The Bottom Line: Leona Lewis has a respectable voice that's worth applauding - but even a fantastic set of vocals can't redeem poor songs, which the laughably-named "Spirit" is thoroughly infected with.
Review: Ever since she emerged the 2006 victor of the UKs annual X Factor contest (think an English American Idol i.e., an illiterate talent parade overseen by hack supreme Simon Cowell), 22-year-old Leona Lewis has been on a ...
