The New Man "I mean Spidey" in Black ?
Date of Review: May 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: 300 million dollars spent on special effects it better be good. Go Spidey !
Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) can he be the new man "I mean spidey" in black? LOL of course he loves Mary Jane (Kristin Dunst) in Spiderman 2 he finally told her and thought that once she knew he was Spiderman she wouldn't be able to share him with the world and he didn't want her to be in danger because of his super hero status but that was then, now a new movie emerges.
The movie begins and shortly into it he takes a simple quiet ride on his awesome Moped (yeah right) to the calm desert night overlooking the city as a mystical meteor hits and he in unaware of this and a strange black tape like creature catches up to him as he gives Mary Jane a ride home and it hitches a ride on his moped and follows him into his Ghetto apartment.
In spiderman 3 where there are 2 villains against him instead of 1 and now he must try to earn his friendship back with his best friend Harry Osborne (James Franco) who takes on the persona of his late fathers' character before he died "The Green Lantern" surfboard and all who has every intention of killing Spiderman until to his dismay gets killed first by Spidey then revived by as well and has no recollection of his past hate for Spiderman.
Now a new villain enter Flint Marco AKA "Sandman" (Thomas Haden Church) has his own plans to destroy Spiderman as they flash back and show that it was really Flint who was the gunman who actually pulled the trigger and killed his beloved grandfather Ben Parker from the 1st episode. Sandman as the other super heroes gets his power by being in a freak accident as well and swells to enormous proportions as the movie progresses. The New Evil Black Spidey at one point is confident he killed off the Sandman and his mind is at ease knowing he only that he knows of has one arch rival left to take care of instead of 2 that he knew was a feat he wouldn't be able to conquer.
Spidey loves the new Black Outfit and loves the feel and power of the suit as he wears it under his clothes and goes to night clubs, grooves down the street like John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever" and shows off everywhere his newfound feelings and talents and even gets dumped by his girlfriend Mary Jane and then shows her up at her new night club waitress job since she was fired from her Broadway spot because her voice didn't project well enough.
Nearing the end of the film his ex best friend Harry Osborne sees a mirror image of his late father and remembers the hatred he carried for spidey and then tries to tear Spidey's heart apart by telling him that he and Mary Jane are an item and makes her tell him as well or he threatens to kill her.
Now Spidey is back to fighting 2 villains because the Sandman has reformed and is bigger than ever! Once his best friend Harry discovers from the butler that Spidey in no way had anything to do with his fathers death he Forms an alliance with him at the last possible moment and meets up with Spidey to destroy the Sandman, save Mary Jane in the nick of time and rejoin the 2 lovers back together, friendships mended and everyone lives happily ever after.
The End.
