Spider-Man for PlayStation 2

by   cdm72 ,  Jun 6, 2004
Pros: Great fun, I was actually sorry to reach the end.
Cons: A time or two it got so difficult I wanted to quit.
The Bottom Line: Our best PS2 purchase so far.
Review: The day I bought my PlayStation 2, there were 2 games that came home with me: SPIDER-MAN and EVIL DEAD: FISTFUL OF BOOMSTICK. I imagined Evil Dead would be the one I spent most of my time on, and for a while it was. But when I hit a standstill on that ...

What tangled webs we weave...

by   rollinggrenade ,  May 22, 2002
Pros: Crisp game play, great graphics, excellent storyline...
Cons: Like all video games nowadays - the absurd price.
The Bottom Line: All in all a fun and entertaining game that will keep you entertained for hours and marks one of the few video games out there worth the $50+ price tag.
Review: The Game

Overall, this is an excellent game, and kudos to Treyarch for their excellent job. The play control is responsive and crisp, and make it a joy to interact with. The graphics are sweeping and superb, making the 3-D digital...

Save up your spidey-cents for this game!

by   homewrecker ,  May 31, 2002
Pros: Excellent graphics & sounds, fun and varied gameplay, entertaining and intuitive built-in training levels
Cons: Indoor missions are a little hard to navigate
The Bottom Line: Overall, VERY fun. You quickly learn to fight, swing, and spray web like a pro. Lots of good 3D action and strategy.
Review: I was surprised by how good this game was - most games created about movies are pretty lame. You can jump right into the game and, after a brief (optional) training level, get right into the action! No drawn-out drippy story, no time consuming...

Spider-Man: Life is a Great Big Bang-Up!

by   predaguyver ,  Jul 22, 2004
Pros: very cool moves, smooth graphics, Maguire's voice, Dafoe's voice, NYC in real time!
Cons: tricky controls
The Bottom Line: I'd get this game because, even though the controls could be better, the game itself is top-notch in graphics, storyline, and extras!
Review: In this game, you play Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man as he develops his spider-powers. Not only do you face different challenges besides beating bad guys up, but you also earn extra moves along the way, such as the Haymaker, Tackle, and Handspring to ...

Game player sense tingling!

by   psfantasia ,  Nov 3, 2003
Pros: True to the character of Spiderman.
Cons: The game may be too difficult for younger players.
Review: Everyone has wanted to be a superhero as a kid, some still do. Well here is your chance. Spiderman: the movie has covered every aspect of being the masked web-slinger like fighting all kinds of arch-villains on the ground & in the sky, various web-slin ...

ACTION GAME!!!!!!!!!

by   rayman5089 ,  May 3, 2004
Pros: action, cool graphics, and great controls
Cons: hard to wall-crawl
Review: This game is filled and jammed with action. The characters look like the real thing, and did I mention the graphics. ...

Two-eyed spiders are better than eight.

by   ChromeKiller , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  May 23, 2002
Pros: It's the best Spider-Man game in existence!
Cons: Awkward camera angles mess up the gameplay.
The Bottom Line: Spider-Man is just like Activision's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise. If you get it for one system, it's about the same as getting it on another.
Review: It's only a matter of weeks before the Spider-Man movie finally arrives in theaters for all of the millions of webhead fans out there to see. For now, though, Activision, the publisher behind the recent Spider-Man titles across multiplatforms, and ...

Action Is His Reward

by   xeno3998 ,  May 21, 2002
Pros: spiderman!
Cons: 1
The Bottom Line: read this review
Review: READ THIS FIRST: This review was completed BEFORE (let me write that again so it sinks in: BEFORE) the Spiderman movie was released and thus does not compare one to the other. Also, I didn't use my 'new and improved' format...

Review of Spider-Man (2002)

by   zer0 ,  May 21, 2002
Pros: Action, Graphics, Aerial Fighting
Cons: Minor Graphics and Control Problems
The Bottom Line: The latest version of Spider-Man is another good game from Activision.
Review:
Spider-Man. Since the days the videogame systems have been sold in stores, there has been at one Spider-Man game on each system. Yes, there was even a Spider-Man game on the Atari systems. Shocking, isn’t it? Now with the release of the Spider-Man:...

Spider Sense...Tingling...feels good....

by   onetuffcowboy ,  Jul 7, 2002
Pros: nice graphics, smooth controls, innovative aerial levels, feels like Spidey
Cons: inconsistent and frustrating camera system
The Bottom Line: Treyarch was given great power with the Spiderman license, and they took great responsibility in creating a wonderful, if slightly flawed, game.
Review: (Prior apologies to Columbia Studios and Spiderman director Sam Raimi for butchering the film's opening script.)

Did I really like Spiderman? You sure you wanna know?

This review is not for the faint of heart. If somebody told you...
