Speak The Master of All Books

While there are other books out there I've never read one as much as I have read Speak. Its a heart-breaking book. About Melinda she's a freshman at Merry weather High home of the god knows what? She was raped at a party towards the end of the summer her friends don't talk to her anymore and her best friend Rachel is a complete snob to her. On a day to day basis Melinda is left in the cold by her parents,her ex-friends,everyone at her school and by her teachers. That all bothers Melinda except there is something that bothers her a whole lot more IT- Andy Evans a popular senior at Melinda's High School he torments her by whispering things in her ear, touching her and he even talks to her! Melinda can't even sleep at night because she has nightmares about him and the rape she sees his face. Melinda tries to forget about it about him. But he won't let her.

My thoughts: When I first picked up this book I thought it was creepy and to dark for me but as I continued to read it I fell in love with it. It's very well written and at first when she started talking about Andy I thought he was just a pervert I had no clue he did that to her. I wasn't scared of him until the rape scene then I stared to have nightmares too. I love this book but to tell u the truth it scares me to death.



My opinion of Melinda: Strong although she doesn't see it she is anyone who can get through that like she did deserves a gold metal she's an all around good person. I will always remember her.

My opinion of Rachel: I think she's not a snob just a follower she'll do what ever she can to fit in even if it means losing herself in the process.

My opinion of Ivy: She's alright but I think since her and Melinda were sort of friends by the end of the book that she could have asked Melinda about what happened at the party.

My opinion of Andy Evans: He is a predator no doubt about that he likes to prey on people's weakness that's why he raped all of those girls so he could have control over them. He does all of those things to Melinda just to keep her quiet don't think he still liked her he didn't he was trying to intimate her to keep her down so people would only see what he wanted them to see. He thought he was a man and all big and bad and stuff for having sex with all of those girls but he wasn't. A true man doesn't hurt a girl or lie about what he's done and for that he is a truly pathetic person.




My opinion of rape: It's not something that you can just tell someone after it happens oh he raped me! I wish it were that easy but u have to understand after you are raped you fell dirty and used ashamed u don't feel like yourself you wish you could crawl into a hole and die. If u have been raped or know somebody who was get them or yourself help fast. The mistake people make is that after u get to the hospital it's going to be okay it's not it will be there forever. U will never feel better until u tell someone.
