Great consumer long zoom camera

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: I'm very happy with this camera - the downsides are relatively trivial and the solid picture quality and large zoom make it a great all-round camera.
Review: I use a camera mainly for family/activity shots. This is my first digital camera and I was concerned about the transition from APS to the digital format, but the DSC-H1 did not disappoint.

The camera takes great photos most of the time -...

awesome zoom ratio, great autofocus, great image quality - a few cons so far

Date of Review:  Apr 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: Camera allows for more control, creativity than point-and-shoot cameras. Zoom allows better control in framing subjects. Image stabilization is great! Battery charging ridiculous though. Go buy it.
Review: I bought the Cyber shot a few days ago after much research and thought vs. the competion. I've really been impressed so far. A while back I used a 35mm for years which I sold and regretted, but think I'll have a lot of fun with the Cyber Shot.

SONY CYBER-SHOT DH-I STEADY SHOT

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2008
The Bottom Line: Recommend this camera for anyone wanting great Zoom and super Macro features. Easy enough for beginners; challenging enough for enthusiasts. Not a thin camera so won't fit into a pocket.
Review: I am not a professional photographer, nor was I worried about all the technical aspects of the camera. I just wanted a great camera to capture my photos without much difficulty.
I bought the DH-1 one week before going to Sedona, AZ. The manual...

Sony DSC-H1 Cyber-shot Digital Camera: Excellent entry level SLR-style Digital camera

Date of Review:  May 31, 2006
The Bottom Line: The bottom line has a Polaroid "Instamatic" from 1973.
Review: Before I begin, I would like to say that until last summer my experience with digital cameras was limited to two previous cameras that were neither high quality nor high priced. I had always though that trying to learn how to effectively operate and...

excellent camera

Date of Review:  Jun 29, 2007
The Bottom Line: great camera for anyone. Easy enough to use for beginners, and enough features to satisfy that more experienced photographer
Review: I bought this camera about a year ago. When I bought it, I didn't know very much about digital photography. The main reason I bought this camera was for the zooming capability but after using it I discovered it offers so much more.
First off,...

A high quality point and shoot camera, but does not compare to a DSLR.

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this camera as a replacement for a DSLR. If you don't need DSLR quality, this camera will make good prints up to 8x10.
Review: I have had my DSC-H1 for nearly 2 years now, and I have to say it has been a great learning experience. This is a great learning camera because it is one of the few "point and shoot" digital cameras that features fully manual operation.
