Seemed expensive for this old technology.

Author's Review
I listen to self-improvement tapes, product information tapes, plays, audio books, and often copy the tapes for family, friends and to have a backup to my original purchase. My old dual tape deck stopped functioning properly when doing a copy, so I had to make a purchase.
I had been looking for weeks for an inexpensive boom box with a dual tape deck, but was afraid that those in the $100 price range would devote very little to the quality of the tape mechanism. I went shopping for a dual deck stereo cassette deck at Circuit City and Best Buy. While Circuit City carried a Sony model 435, they had none in stock..... Moreover, I did not want to wait. Across the street at Best Buy, they had a Sony TC-WE475 in my price range, so I took it home.
Who Else Listens to an hour tape explaining a Glucosamine Supplements?
Hey, I am serious! I have expanded my business beyond selling water filters to include an excellent line of anti-oxidants, minerals and nutrients. I believe in doing my homework! I also have a tape of a doctor explaining how and why he developed a HGH Enhancer. A supplement to stimulate your growth hormone. Anyone read out there? If you do, you will know that the fountain of youth is really within your pituitary gland to produce growth hormone. As we age, the body produces less and less. However, I digress!
Don't Mind Her --- She is always going off on a tangent!
My Stereo system is Sansui and a few years old. I trust the name of Sony, so I thought this might be a good product. The manual features both the Sony WE475 and the WE675, so there are features in the manual that I never dreamed of...like recording the same source on both decks or Simultaneous Recording. But never mind.... the WE475 cannot do that.
I would use more of the features if I were recording music
My hope was that a dual tape deck with "fancy features" would insure improved mechanics. I do not envision using the Fading in and out feature known as the "Fader". These are instructional tapes for the most part...I would not want to lose any of the dialog.
Reading the Manual
The manual is straightforward, printed in English and includes a section for Part Identification, Troubleshooting and Specifications. I had no trouble setting it up and making my first copy.
