Ignore your neighbor.

I bought these for work, because I was tired of listening to my phone ring, and my neighbors kvetch. I also needed a bit more bass and treble than the average pair of air-through 'phones would provide. Overall, they've been fanastic. They're big, they're kind of ugly, but they block out anything except what you're listening to.

One warning, though: beware of the Fight Club soundtrack -- there are some deep bass drum things going on there that will give you an instant headache with these things on.
