I Spent How Much On Headphones?

Date of Review:  Mar 23, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you've got a few extra dollars to spend, pick these up.
Review: Alright everyone, here's the story... It was my twentieth birthday (or Christmas, I don't remember) and my mom wanted to get me a present. For the first time in my life she said that we could just go out to the mall and I could pick something I...

Review: I originally bought these headphones when I was in the army because I lived in an open barracks with rows of bunk beds and no privacy. I used them to block out conversations and to relax and they worked wonderful. and due to the flexibility of the...

I can't believe these are replacements for the venerable MDR V6!

Date of Review:  Apr 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: The V600 is a poor buy. Save your money and find a pair of MDR-V6 or audition other units in its price range. The old V6 was much better!
Review: I've owned a pair of Sony MDR V6's for a long time - possibly 8+ years and have been thoroughly happy with them for the price. They are comfortable, good sonic performance, fold to a fairly compact package and have survived a lot of business travel...

Review: The Sony MDR-V600 headphones... Well let's see...

Price: About $100 at the time I bought mine in 1996, I am not certain that they are still that high, but I would think that they are in that range still. I thought at the time that it was...

A Sonic Abomination

Date of Review:  May 19, 2000
Review: To tell you the truth, I was extremely confused when I first visited the epinions product page for the MDR-V600. I had purchased a pair of these 7 years ago and returned them within the same week. Wanting to see what all the fuss was about, I...

best value heaphone for multi-purpose use

Date of Review:  Jan 2, 2007
The Bottom Line: Best-value headphones for multiple uses, professional and consumer.
Review: I have owned several top-rated headphones over my 7 years of DJing and studio work, and can say with certainty that the Sony MDR-V600 heaphones are BY FAR the best value for the money. Their frequency response is excellent, bass is tight and highs...

Sweet Sounds

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2000
Review: I bought my Sony MDR-V600 headphones about 2 years ago. These 'phones sound great for the price. I listened to 10 -12 different headphones from various manufacturers and finally chose these. When comparing, I found that the sound quality of the...

Average midline headphones

Date of Review:  Mar 30, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you can pick them up for around 30-40 bucks, go ahead. Otherwise, I'd pass.
Review: I bought these thinking they would be a good update to the venerable Sony MDR-V6. Boy was I wrong.

The MDR-V600 are big on bass, too much so for my taste. The bass seems overdone and excessive. The mid levels seem lacking and stifled,...

THE PRICE IS RIGHT

Date of Review:  Oct 23, 1999
Review: Sony MDR-V600 is an exceptional value for the $100 price tag. Their light weight form fitting design is ideal for home/office use. I would not consider this item to accommodate the high end consumer or professional market. The Sony MDR-V600 would be...

mmm....comfy...

Date of Review:  Jul 31, 2000
Review: The MDR-V600's are a decent set of headphones, but they're nothing to write home about. My thoughts:

Executive Summary
The V600's are classified as "Studio Monitors," aimed at the higher-end market. They're more than enough headphone...
