Great bang for the buck!

Date of Review:  Aug 19, 2008
Review: These replaced the ones that came with my MP3 player. I love how strong the bass is and how good they sound when compared to more expensive headphones. I have some much more expensive regular headphones and these sound comparable, and have better...

Listen without prejudice

Date of Review:  Sep 24, 2005
The Bottom Line: I really like these headphones. I would like them better if they didn't keep failing on me.
Review: I have little ears. Not my actual ears which are about an average size I think; but narrow ear canals. So for most of my life I've had two choices: over-the-head earphones which can be cumbersome and uncomfortable and sometimes give me headaches;...

Too Delicate

Date of Review:  Feb 18, 2008
Review: I think these headphones sound pretty good but they are, by far, the most delicate pair of headphones that I have ever bought. I've tried several different versions of the fontopia-like headphones from Sony and none of them have ever lasted longer...

Sony MDR-EH51LP - Perfection on a Budget

Date of Review:  Mar 11, 2007
The Bottom Line: Buy them, as long as you like "in ear" earbuds. If you like accurate music reproduction, you will probably like the Sony MDR-EH51LP earbuds.
Review: These "in ear," semi-isolated earbuds offer many advantages. Earbuds are a very personal item, in part because the fit depends on your ear. Even with the supplied 2 x Small, 2 x Medium, and 2 x Large soft silicon earbuds, I am certain that someone...

Good for yard work, not the best sound

Date of Review:  Sep 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend them if you need to work in a noisy environment and don't want to blow your ears out listening to music.
Review: I have been making due with a 64MB RCA flash based MP3 player for a while exercising and doing yard work. I had been cranking up the player to drown out the lawn mower and I know that's bad for the ears. I picked these up in hopes that their sound...

Sony MDR-EX51LP

Date of Review:  Oct 12, 2005
Review: If you have suffered with the standard ear buds that come with MP3 players or personal audio players, and you don't want to shell out a lot of cash for "true" noise canceling ear buds, then these are your solution.

I was recently on a to...

A Different Kind of Review...

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2006
The Bottom Line: Recommended because pros outweighed the cons (depends on user and situation)
Review: Rather than talk about specs and such (all the other reviews seem to do this so check them out if you're interested) I thought I'd just describe the situations in which I've used them.

1. On the bus/metro: I find that the only phones' that...

Excellent in-ear headphones

Date of Review:  Nov 6, 2005
Review: Good for the price. Very comfortable. Includes 3 options of earpiece rubber tips. The case doesn't really make any sense, though. Quite confusing. I like the behind-the-neck rigging of it. Excellent for the price. Very difficult to find...

My opinion after two years...

Date of Review:  Jun 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: I've bought 3 pairs over the last three years. For the price, I think they're great - comfortable, good sound, reasonable quality. A good set of commuting earbuds
Review: I've used the EX51's, the EX71's, some Shure earbuds (e2c's, I think) and the BOSE QuietComfort 2. Mostly I use them at work to drown out other noise, listening to either classical music, instrumentals or nature sounds.

The EX51's are my...

Great Buds

Date of Review:  Apr 29, 2005
Review: Perhaps the best buds I've ever owned. Very lightweight, beautiful sound production (good seal used to create deep bass ). Unit is very comfortable in ear and fits snugly. Ambient noise isolation is on par with some noise canceling headphones,...
