An unusually poor product from Epson
Pros:
Inexpensive, looks nice.
Cons:
Quality is very suspect.
The Bottom Line:
Do not buy the C84. Despite the low price, it is not worth the cost.

Author's Review
I've owned several Epson printers over the years, and before the C84 every one of them was working fine right up until the day I put it out to pasture.
The C84 is an inexpensive choice, and I found it to be available at a host of different online retailers. Initial setup was easy and I had the printer cranking away in no time. The print quality was nothing to write home about, but perfectly acceptable for a printer in this price range, especially considering that Epson has superior inks to other low-end printer vendors like Lexmark.
However, after 13 months of use (yes, just one month past the warranty period) my printout quality very abruptly declined. Over a period of a few days it went from bad to non-existent: The printer acted like it was printing, but the page just came out white.
I called Epson support and explained the problem. I was told that if I had already tried cleaning the print head repeatedly and changing the ink cartridges, there was nothing more they could do for me over the phone. (They could, however, offer me a discount on a new Epson printer. Just a little tacky, guys.) I was given phone numbers of mail-order printer repair businesses in my region of the country, but the printer is so inexpensive that it's not worth paying to ship it and paying to have it fixed, if it even can be fixed.
Overall I feel disappointed and cheated. This product was way below the standard I have come to expect from Epson. Seeing many other negative reviews of this printer leads me to one conclusion: Stay away from the C84.
