Author's Review

I received the SLV-D350P as a Christmas gift and at first it ran fairly well. I did have some problems right away with it reading -R and +R discs though, but they were intermittent. As time has passed I am now having trouble with all types of discs. About 45 minutes into a movie the picture becomes blocky getting worse as the minutes pass. Then it will eventually freeze and you have to turn off the unit for a few minutes so you can resume the movie. Needless to say it can take a while to watch a long movie. Customer service had know idea what the problem could be and told me to clean the lens and blow out any dust. Then leave the tray open for awhile to allow any moisture in the system to dry. They were no help. I could also pay them $33 for an exchange of a refurbished unit, (the same model) but I have to have the receipt to do it. It was a present, I don't have a receipt. They told me that I would have to pay the out of warranty price then. I say forget you Sony.
