Great Camera

I've had several digital cameras, with the last being a Konica/Minolta Dimage Z3. I wanted to upgrade to a digital SLR and since I already had a rather long zoom lens for my Minolta HTSi, imagine my glee when Sony introduced the Alpha, which was compatible with my zoom lens. I've had the camera almost two months and have taken close to 400 pictures, almost all of them soccer pictures. The 10 megapixels really are nice when it comes to cropping and enlarging the photos. The camera is sturdy and easy to use. I've had to adapt some of the settings and change the default settings in Sports mode, but that was easy to do. It seems the "continuous autofocus" doesn't always focus on what I want it to do. But I also spoke with a Canon Rebel owner and he said he has the same problem. I fixed the problem simply by changing from "continuous autofocus" to "single autofocus". The pictures have turned out very nice. The included software is also nice, and automatically sorts your pictures by date. Speaking of which, unless you print the pictures out right away, you can't have the date imprinted on them. It seems a little slow for fast sports shots, but that could be my lens or maybe a setting I've over-looked. Overall, I think it's a good camera and compares well with others in it's class. If you already own a Minolta lens, it's a no-brainer to buy this camera.
