Pros: Super SteadyShot, exellent ergnomics and handgrip, fine image quality and very high resolution
Cons: Viewfinder not great for glasses wearers, high ISO a bit noisy
The Bottom Line: A great dSLR for any enthusiast who wants to enjoy the benefit of image stabilization with any lens along with high resolution, very natural image quality and excellent ergonomics.
Review: As other reviewers have noted, the Alpha 100 is Sony's first foray into the world of digital SLRs. However, this is not really a first-generation product, since it is actually the result of Sony's acquisition of Konica-Minolta's digital camera business. ...

A great camera, especially if you have old Minolta lenses.

Pros: Well designed, abundant features, compatible with old minolta lenses, beautiful images
Cons: None so far. Will update if any surface.
The Bottom Line: This camera continues to exceed my expectations for image quality and control. It integrates perfectly with my 20-year old Minolta AF lenses. It has singlehandedly renewed my love of photography.
Review: In my closet, a nondescript camera bag sits in a dark corner. It's seen many of my life's great moments, but it hasn't seen the sun in years. Inside, a fully tricked out Minolta Maxxum 7000i slumbers next to enough glass to equip an army of paparazzi ...

Pros: Ease of use, quality of pictures at low ISO settings, uses Minolta lenses, price.
Cons: Grainy at high ISO settings, external flash solutions not ideal.
The Bottom Line: A highly dependable camera with very good results. Buy it if cheap, otherwise go for the A-200!
Review: I've had this camera for just over a year now. It has comfortably performed excellently and dependably all the time, as long as I haven't expected miracles! It has of course been superseded by the Sony Alpha A-200, which is good news if you can find ...

Pros: Compatible with Minolta lenses, easy computer connection.
Cons: A bit complicated for a newbie to SLR photography
The Bottom Line: A great camera for those who like photography and being creative with the hobby. Certainly a wise choice if you own Minolta lenses already.
Review: I was sick when I first hear that Konica Minolta was getting out of the camera business, but pleasantly surprised about their partnership with Sony. I've owned 2 Sony camcorders, and several VCR's and DVD players over the years. So, I had no concerns ...

Sony's AWESOME DSLR

Pros: Photo quality, build quality, works with Sony & Minolta accessories.
Cons: Sony name adding cost to accessories.
The Bottom Line: Easy enough for beginners to lean on yet offers professional quality photographs.
Review: This is Sony's, and my, first DSLR. I have been using point-and-shoots my whole life and found that I had outgrown them all; I needed something with increased resolution, but also had enough features to let me grow as a photographer. This camera did ...

Pros: SLR, uses Minolta lenses, and can take photos is low light.
Cons: Only allowed to install software on one computer.
The Bottom Line: Would recommend for great photos.
Review: The Alpha combines the best of a film SLR and a digital camera. I like it better than my Minolta SLR. It has a comfortable grip and the buttons are well placed. I have printed some photos 13X19 inch, the largest my printer can, and they still look ...

Pros: Ease of use and super shots even w/ a beginner
Cons: Justifiably larger and more expensive than point and shoots
The Bottom Line: The best technology in a user-friendly format
Review: After having my daughter, I decided I wanted to upgrade my digital camera. I had a $250 point and shoot Toshiba that took decent pictures. I went to the store and came home with the sony alpha 100, an 18-70 lens and an external flash. As soon as I got ...

Pros: Sturdy, easy to use, lens compatibility can save lots of $
Cons: Needs a little faster fps rate for fast sports
The Bottom Line: Great camera for owners of Minolta film SLRs, due to the compatibility of lenses, flashes, etc. Lots of megapixels, sturdy
Review: I've had several digital cameras, with the last being a Konica/Minolta Dimage Z3. I wanted to upgrade to a digital SLR and since I already had a rather long zoom lens for my Minolta HTSi, imagine my glee when Sony introduced the Alpha, which was ...

Pros: Nice design and layout your fingers just sit straight onto the controls, fast operation.
Cons: Could have a little orange dot, on the lens cap to line it up.
Review: Easy to use I mean really easy, everything in the right place, I went from 3 prosumer cameras to this camera after a lot of research and its the best move I have ever made. Fast and easy with great photos and tons of lens to choose from. Keep up the ...

Pros: Price, picture quality, Minolta lineage, battery life
Cons: the built in flash - like all built in flashes
Review: I cannot say enough about this camera. I purchased the A100 body and a Tamron 28-300 lens and have never looked back. Great pictures even in slower shutter speeds (1/10th of a second - handheld) with the Sony Steady Shot. The Steady ...
