Excellent Drive, Poor Software

Pros:  Excellent build quality, burn quality, speed.

Cons:  Poor/old software, price a little high.

Author's Review

Drive is excellent.  Very fast.  Compared w/ my other DVD burners: Plextor PX-850SA, PX-712SA, Sony DRU-830A, DW-G120A, LG GSA-E40L, PBDS DH-16W1S, etc., it is second only to my (expensive) Plextor PX-850SA.

Reliable burns on good DVDs like Maxell, Verbatim, TDK.  Not a single bad burn.

Rips DVDs very quickly too: avg. 10-15 min. tops.  My other burners average 20 min.

Software sucks.  For burning, buy Nero 9 full or use BurnFree or ImgBurn.  For watching DVDs, use Media Player Classic or VLC Media Player.
