Sony ECM-MS907 Consumer Microphone

I'm a classical violist in school, so I needed something to record myself for audition tapes and for personal feedback. This seems to be the microphone that I see all the other students using. I shopped around and it also seemed that this was the only affordable quality mic available before you get into the professional (ie REALLY EXPENSIVE) models. I've used it for 5 years now, and it still works great. The sound reproduction seems good, I've been using it with a minidisc recorder. The battery lasts a long time. The mic is quite sensitive, I have to place it far away from the minidisc or else it picks up the spinning sound of the disc. The included carrying pouch is very handy and helps provide some basic protection. You can switch between a 90 or 120 degree cone of recording. I can definitely hear the difference between the two on recordings. Its a good basic mic for quality music recordings.
