Great for videography, GarageBand on Mac

Pros: Simple operation, standard battery, inexpensive, obvious sound improvement, works with GarageBand on Macintosh.
Cons: Battery screwcap feels slightly odd.
The Bottom Line: Overall, I'm satisfied. The mic was inexpensive, it's easy to operate, it uses a standard battery. And bonus, it plugs right into my Macintosh for use with GarageBand.
Review: I have a Sony DCR-TRV900 camcorder, that I'm using on a biography project. I consider myself an amateur videographer. The camcorder is positioned on a tripod about 5 feet or so back from the people. The built-in microphone picks up a lot of room noise in ...

Pros: Excellent sound, reliable.
Cons: Non-standard holder, gold plug.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Sony ECMMS907. It faithfully records live sounds with minimal distortions and has useful settings. It's a great deal for the price.
Review: I've been using this mic for a year now in a few different applications. I mainly use it with a Sony MZR37 MiniDisc recorder. I record band rehearsals in a small room and it does an excellent job of capturing the huge range of instrument sounds, ...

Pros: Good quality recording, durable, reliable
Cons: none, the next step up is professional mics
Review: I'm a classical violist in school, so I needed something to record myself for audition tapes and for personal feedback. This seems to be the microphone that I see all the other students using. I shopped around and it also seemed that this was the only ...

Pros: Inexpensive. Battery lasts forever. Relatively good sound for the price. Simple to set up.
Cons: Limited frequency response and sound pressure level. Stereo image isn't great.
Review: I used this to tape concerts and band rehearsals. It works OK, and sounds fairly good, but it has a tendency to lose high-frequency response under loud situations. I don't really like the mid-side stereo that this microphone employs. Though it does ...
