Powerful Sony STR-DE897 7.1 Channel Receiver

Great power, but not so much that you end up with a headache. As with most Sony products it is easy to set up and use. A better overall experience than it's younger sibling the STR-DE845 which was only a 5.1. The only problem is that the low sounds can sound somewhat distorted, rumbly, and fuzzy before you find what sound setup works best with your personal system. It's short profile (only 6.19 in.) makes it a great fit in those small areas the larger receivers won't. The 30 tuner presets are a great addition to this model as are the Dolby Prologic II, DTS®, and Dolby Digital® surround decoders
