Sony CMT-CPX22 CD Shelf System

I bought this for Christmas 2005, by christmas 2006 it was no longer working.

Sadly, my experience with this ended shortly after the waranty expired. One day it just wouldn't power on. Sony support offered no help, so I took it apart myself to get the CD's it had swallowed out. The CD tray motor had burnt out. Seriously I used this no more than 20 hours in a year, what sort of junk are Sony churning out? I had similar experiences with a sony minidisc player (Broke within three weeks laser wouldn't move, got a replacement) and a cybershot camera (Zoom lens wouldn't zoom). They all seem like similar problems, crappy electrics, and each one was looked after well and not abused.
