Sony ECM-DS70P Consumer Microphone

I bought this microphone from Dealcat.com in a flawless shopping experience. This company is not listed here - I guess they don't want to pay the price for the listing. As for the mic, it's a great mic. I'm amazed at the range and sensitivity. I'm still learning to use the directional preferences - in some situations, I'm still getting lots of background "noise" like coughs and some guy talking two rows up. But I guess that's part of the package in a sensitive mic and the kind of recording I do. In the past, I've used cassette recorders, and the mic incorporated into those units aren't even in the same league as this mic. Most of the recording I do is conversations and seminars - I'll append to this review when I get a chance to try it out in those settings.
