Small Stereo Microphone - Big Results

by   dbly1850 ,  May 7, 2009
Pros: Small size, doesn't need a battery,Excellent recording quality
Cons: Needs a Wind Screen 24/7, odd ball size won't fit standard microphone holders
The Bottom Line: If you have a Sony HI-MD recorder - this matches perfect. Otherwise a solid stereo microphone - I highly recommend
Review: I bought this stereo microphone to use on a Sony Hi-MD Mini Disc recorder. I work for a Broadcast Radio Station. I needed something, that would bring in the audio surroundings to the person interviewed, yet, not drown out the subject. At first with no ...

Great mic.

by   corleone1973 ,  Mar 29, 2002
Pros: Very sensitive, the extension cord lends flexibility
Cons: very sensitive, pay attention to the directional preferences
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a mic to use with your minidisc recorder, this is a great choice.
Review: I bought this microphone from Dealcat.com in a flawless shopping experience. This company is not listed here - I guess they don't want to pay the price for the listing. As for the mic, it's a great mic. I'm amazed at the range and sensitivity. I'm...

Sony ECM Mic Specifications

by   broadcastguy ,  Jun 17, 2007
Pros: Looks like a really nice Mic that should meet my needs depending upon power.
Cons: No information on what voltage is specified for "plug in powered".
The Bottom Line: I would suggest to the manufacturers that they be more specific in their spec sheets concerning voltages, epecially where it concerns microphones. Not all of us are engineers.
Review: Why does Sony not SPECIFY what they mean by PLUG IN POWER CAPABILITY. To those of us in the recording industry, that typically means 48 volt phantom power. In NONE of the ads from various dealers, nor the official Sony site....do they explain what ...

Surprising quality

by   motorista ,  May 29, 2006
Pros: Size, sensitivity, no battery required.
Cons: Can pick up mechanism noise.
Review: I use one of these with a hi-md minidisc. It is very sensitive and can pick up anything from voice to wind bands. Of course, it does not give great stereo separation and there are higher quality microphones available, but it is small and easy to carry ...
