Less expensive option for Blue ray players!

I am in my mid-thirties and I'll admit...I like to play video games still! However, I bought this machine mainly because the store clerk at the "discount store" tried to sell me a $1000 Blue ray player first!

I began my adventure for a Blue ray player after watching a Blue ray movie for myself on a flat screen LCD...SOLD ME FAST! I went to all of the major chains and noticed that all of the clerks were trying to sell me on high end players that cost way too much! I finally made it to Best Buy and when I asked to see a Blue ray player the clerk walked me to the video game section and pointed to the PS3. She said that it was the best kept secret in the industry (until now) and for the price/ features, capabilities...she was right.

I have owned the PS3 for about 6 months now and it rocks! Granted the video games are a little pricey, they are super clear in picture quality. I have mine connected via HDMI, which is the only way to go for true HDTV. The audio is superb since it is all running through my Sony Bravia receiver and into my Sony Bravia 50 inch rear projection DLP/ LCD TV.

I linked my system with my wireless N router for updates and occassional web surfing (I have a laptop for that). I changed the wallpaper on the start up screen...a neat feature in itself. I also synced my PSP with the PS3 as an extra controller.

Again, I primarily purchased this unit as a Blue ray player, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all of its perks. It does get hot and I added the fan accessory which eliminated this problem fast. I also love the bluetooth ability to sync my cell phone earpiece with the PS3 for game audio. The bluetooth controllers are another nice feature that add that extra touch of "high tech".

Overall, I would purchase again.
