It is really great, but could have been a bit better

Mini disc players are the future of music technology. they are getting very popular nowadays. The good thing is that you don't have to buy expensive memory cards, the minidiscs are like 3-4 bucks CDN (that's pretty cheap). First of all, this minidisc player that i bought is really light, portable and in terms of sound it is excellent. the base is really good with the appropiate type of headphones available in the market (the supplied headphones are a joke). i bought the MDRQ55SLS headphones and i have noticed that the bass is simple amazing. Though one problem that i had was with the sonic stage 1.53 version that was supplied to me. it did not quite exactly work in my XP system for some reason. however, i used real player v10 for the file transfer and tell you what; real player is much better than the sonicstage since it does not have any checkin or check out stuff...simple drag and drop transfers. Even if you get your sonicstage working on your system, i would recommend you to use real player v10 since it is a lot better than sonic stage. A major thing to be aware about would be the actual mp3 support of sonic stage. Sonic stage does not transfer the mp3 files in its actual format, however it converts every file in a ATRAC format, and this ATRAC format files flood up your hard drive real quick. One thing that sony could have added in order to make this minidisc player a competitive product would be the character input feature which is available in the other expensive minidisc players available in the market. this character input feature allows you to edit the song tags without connecting the minidisc player to the system. The battery life seems to be simply excellent. I can use my minidisc player for 40 hours of playback with one single AA battery. that is a really great feature that sony provides. Talking about sound: sound is simply amazing, you cannot get any much deeper than that...Sony does it again in the sound. There are adjustments so that you can set the bass and the treble as per your settings. It is very light and small that you can almost hide it anywhere. The one thing that i do not like about this minidisc player is that the supported USB transfer capabilities are not compatible with the USB High speed. it uses the old USB interface i.e. USB 1.1. Overall, this is a really great minidisc player and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a less expensive portable digital music system.
