Excellent, if over-priced, television
Pros:
Incredible picture
Cons:
Expensive, heavy(!)
The Bottom Line:
If you're not on a strict budget, buy it. Go to a store and compare the picture with other brands. That's what sold me.

Author's Review
I had a 9 year old 19" JVC. It was a decent, basic, television. When I decided to upgrade, I immediately thought of getting another JVC. I had heard about the Sony Wega sets, but thought they were just plain too expensive. Also, I did some research and found that some people had complained about the screen geometry and trouble displaying straight lines with the Wegas. So I really wasn't thinking of getting one.
One day my girlfriend was planning on going to a local electronics store and I asked her to check out the prices of the particular JVC I had in mind. When she got back she told me about the JVC, but also mentioned that she was absolutely stunned when she saw the Sony Wega side-by-side with other brands. I thought I better check it out for myself and she was right. I was floored when I saw how impressive the Wega picture was when compared to other models. Furthermore, I couldn't see anything wrong with the geometry of the several Wegas I saw on display.
That was all it took. I bought the Wega and haven't been disappointed in the slightest. The biggest problem I had with it was getting it into my entertainment center. The darn thing weighs 110 pounds!
I won't go into all the bells and whistles the Wega has since I didn't buy it for those. I bought it simply because the picture quality was so much better than anything else I saw. The flat screen takes a *little* getting used to at first. But after a few days, it looks just great. Far superior to the more standard curved tubes in other televisions. It was also easy to connect up with my satellite dish and ReplayTV system.
As for the geometry or "straight line" problems that others have mentioned, the setup menu does have a "Tilt Correction" option, which I did not need to adjust. But perhaps that would help if the problem did occur.
I've had the Wega now for over six months now and don't have any complaints.
