Simply Amazing - the Sony Flat Screen TV

Date of Review:  Mar 15, 2001
The Bottom Line: BUY THIS - this is the BEST value for the money, undoubtebly.
Review:
Ever since 1996, I?ve needed a new TV. My older 19? TV was manufactured in what is estimated as sometime during the Mesozoic Era, and it was falling apart. Up until I purchased my new TV, things like closed captioning and stereo sound were only...

How did we ever live before?

Date of Review:  Dec 4, 2001
The Bottom Line: Worth the extra money! Has the picture quality of $3000 TVs with a smaller price!
Review: We had seen the Sony Wega in the stores for about a year. We liked what we saw but we didn?t want to spend $500 on a TV, so we passed. Every time we saw one my husband and I salivated, but we walked away.

Then, about a month ago we went to...

Sony KV-24FV12 FD Superflat 24" Trinitron WEGA TV

Date of Review:  Jul 27, 2001
The Bottom Line: The Sony KV-24FV12 is not cheap, but you get stylish TV with lots of features and great picture quality.
Review: The Sony KV-24FV12 FD Trinitron WEGA TV has absolutely flat screen. 24? size is well-suited for small-sized and medium-sized rooms. It also looks hi-tech with its silverish-gray finish and sharp angles.

Best picture in standard TV format

Date of Review:  Nov 30, 2000
The Bottom Line: The Sony KV-24FV12, along with other WEGA sets, offers what I consider the best picture available in standard NTSC format.
Review: When you mention a flat screen TV people assume right away you're talking about a high definition set (HDTV), but this is not necessarily the case. The Sony WEGA sets offer viewers a flat screen in the familiar NTSC format that's been in existence...

Great affordable TV!!!!!!!!1

Date of Review:  Sep 9, 2000
Review: I was recently building my home theatre system and opted for this tv. It is only 24 inches but I have a small bedroom. I really love the unique look to this tv. I also purchased the matching tv stand that compliments this nicely. This set has great...

The last of its Sony kind.

Date of Review:  Jul 3, 2004
Review: Try to find ALL of these features on today's 24" Sony or any TV for that matter at a price under $400:

Digital comb filter: 3-line
Dynamic Picture processor
Auto White Balance
Auto Pedestal Clamp
Vertical aperture...

Sony 24" Wega (KV24FV12)

Date of Review:  Mar 10, 2001
The Bottom Line: With the Sony you'll have spent HALF-at the very least, ($550.00 plus HDTV converter $200.00(?)), as compared to a25"HDTV,($1000.00 plus)
Review: The crispest, clearest picture I've EVER seen! I got the opportunity to compare, SIDE BY SIDE, the Sony Wega to the NEW Phillip's Magnavox (this model was NOT HDTV, and was a 27",Wega look-a-like), AND to the Panasonic wide screen(which WAS a HDTV)...

Some image issues, but great

Date of Review:  Dec 24, 2009
The Bottom Line: Definitely recommended, but beware of the DVD issue.
Review: INTRO:
8 years ago, my dad won four $100.00 Best Buy gift cards at his job. He gave one to his brother (my uncle), one to my mother, one to me, and kept one for himself. My uncle’s a techno-addict, so he spent his money almost instantly, but...

Good but not problem free

Date of Review:  Aug 26, 2003
The Bottom Line: Those looking for great picture quality from a flat screen need to look no further, but it's not perfect.
Review: This model television has been discontinued by Sony but I thought I'd finally write a review on it after reviewing pretty much all the other electronic components I own that are less dated.

We used to live in a condominium...

Nice screen, but widescreen movie mode deliberately hidden

Date of Review:  Nov 5, 2001
The Bottom Line: If the 16:9 feature were not deliberately hidden, this TV would be a best-buy.
Review: It was the obvious choice, but a painful choice. The Sony KV-24FV12 had the screen size I wanted (24"), and the Trinitron WEGA flat screens look the best.

The screen quality is excellent. I tuned the thing with a test disc, but little...
