remote only so-so. black detail can wash out in daylight.

Cabient size and weight very manageable (83 lbs.). I see rainbows, so DLP not an option for me. Plus I notice red push and motion artifacts, so for most of my viewing (HD sports) that was not acceptable. Fantastic picture on HD material (Comcast), acceptable with SD but you realize how crappy it is immediately compared to a good HD signal. Blacks are deep and shadow detail very good. Plasma a bit better on that, but for the money, rear projection a better option for what I wanted (BIG screen, fast response time). It's in our living room, so during daylight hours, picture is a little washed out - certainly acceptable given variable lighting. Everyone decribes the Sonys as "filmlike" and if you feed it a decent signal (MHD or INHD) you definitely get that impression. Absolutely beautiful. For the money, I'm extremely happy and will be living in front of this thing during football season from now on (much to the concern of my GF I'm sure). Pricing is so good right now, there's really no reason to jump into it.
