Sony Bravia, WOW

Date of Review: Nov 27, 2007

The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this TV to anyone looking at picking up an LCD of this size. It's easy to use, and has the Sony name behind it.
I have eyed this television set for quite sometime before I finally picked one up from a local electronics store. The Bravia line from Sony has yet to disappoint me. This TV is easy to use, has enough HDMI hook ups for my sources, and is the perfect size for my room. One thing I really like is that it has a taller screen than most wide screen TV's of this size. One thing I "hate" about this TV is that the didn't offer and XBR version of this particular model, it seems Sony only did that with their 52" and the 40" models. I like the classy look of the XBR frame, but I am content with the matte black finish of the Bravia as opposed to the shiny, glossy finish of some other brands models. I would recommend pairing this TV with a Yamaha or BOSE sound system, but that's for another review. Another thing that I wish would be a little better on this model would be a higher contrast ratio and perhaps a faster response time. A sort of more "nature of the beast" complaint is that without a 1080p source, it doesn't matter if you buy a 720p TV or a 1080p TV. I do have a 1080p source, but haven't upgraded to HD cable yet, and unfortunately, there's not major differences between standard cable on standard tv and standard cable on a high def TV. Over all though, this TV would get a 5/5 from me.
