Well, I bought a Westinghouse 40 720p. Was not crazy about it but the price was right. I'd viewed the Sony at BB, CC and Sams. Finally bought it at Sams--open box, 2k. 46 inch makes it an official big screen. 40 did not feel like it but 46 does at 8.5 feet away. Color reproduction, blacks, contrast are tops! Even with different sources. The Westy looked almost unwatchable on standard content. Not so with the Sony. Having looked at HDTVs for awhile, this one is a notch above the rest. The XBR3 is nice but I did not like the frame or the price tag. Sound is also great with BBE and SRS surround sound. No longer do you have to ask "what did he say?"
