Great little radio

Date of Review:  Apr 9, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you need a battery backed up radio that had many uses then I would recommend this one.
Review: I have owned this radio for 2 years. One of its best features is that it can be plugged it or run on AA batteries. The battery feature is a must for weather purposes. Anytime the power has gone out we have been able to rely on this radio to keep us...

Big Bang for Small Bucks!!!

Date of Review:  May 17, 2006
The Bottom Line: Most highly recommended. I plan on purchasing another one for myself, and one for a friend in the next week.
Review: I was given this radio (at my request) as a "birthday appliance" by my wife. I use it primarily to listen to NPR. Here in Honolulu, our public radio station is located fairly close to a 50 KW "rocker/rapper" station (both in frequency and distance)...

A pleasant surprise

Date of Review:  Sep 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: Nice radio for the AM listener who has felt neglected by the radio manufacturers
Review: My mother in law loves AM radio late at night when she can't sleep. When her 25 year old radio finally died, she asked me which radio to replace it with. I had no clue, so I started looking for reviews. I bought this with a few recommendations from...

Sony ICF-36 Review

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2003
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this radio to anyone looking for a good inexpensive radio that picks up AM-FM,and TV sound on channels 2-13.
Review: I purchased this radio at Frys electronics for about 27.00 including tax. The ICF-36 is a moderatly small portable radio, that runs off of 4 AA batteries or you may plug it directly into a ac outlet. It recieves AM-FM, tv sound of channels 2-13, and...

Good value for the money

Date of Review:  Mar 19, 2006
Review: For the money I paid ($19.99 on sale)I am very pleased. My wife wanted a radio for the bathroom where she gets ready for work in the morning and this radio sounds great.

I will have to agree with the other review about tuning sensitivity...

Bad Weather Conditions

Date of Review:  Jul 5, 2005
Review: If you really want an emergency weather radio, look somewhere else. We live in Tampa Bay, an area which has at least two NOAA weather stations supposedly within range, and neither could be heard on this radio. It's not bad as a general-purpose...

Horrible Radio

Date of Review:  Apr 21, 2004
Review: I purchased this radio in hopes that it could replace a small portable radio that had poor reception. I purchased this ICF-36 online through www.sonystyle.com - what a mistake that was.

Out of the box the radio looked great. It had all the...

ICF-36

Date of Review:  Oct 21, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a low priced portable radio, this is well worth your money.
Review: Solid body. Sturdy. Huge antenna. Does a great job picking up stations where other radios have failed me. 4" speaker is great. Get a stereo to mono adapter from Radio Shack for a few dollars and you then can use your walkman headphones. Has a...
