Still has some kinks!

As a freelance writer, I was in the market for a digital voice recorder that would help my work. I was looking for something that would be compatible with my Speakeasy dictation program, while being portable at the same time. I did not find what I was looking for in this product.

I was a little disappointed in this product, because I love and purchase Sony often for most of my electronic needs. One major disadvantage with this digital voice recorder is that it is not easy to use when you hook it up to your computer. The voice recorder comes with a USB cord and software that helps you edit voice recording through your computer. I wanted to be able to edit some recordings, so I can insert some audio clips into some videos I was creating. However, the voice recordings would not upload, and I could not find any easy support to figure it out. Although voice recording via the actual device is superb and easy, I needed something I can edit on my computer to publish online. I am not a technology whiz, but with simple instructions I can normally figure things out. However, when it gets to a point where troubleshooting is taking an extremely long time, I rather return the item.

In general, this is a good product. I think Sony needs to improve on the software that is installed into the computer to upload and edit the voice recordings. If the software would not have been as difficult, I would have kept the product.
