Great Things Come in Small Packages

by   bwhitehead ,  Jan 21, 2002
Pros: Brains and Beauty plus high-tech performance. This one has it all.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: This unit has it all in a very small and beautiful package. There is no downside - it's all high-end top of the line.
Review: I recently replaced my JVC 9000 DVD player with a Sony progressive scan model. I purchased the JVC way back in 1998 when the second generation of DVD players first arrived and had been very happy with it until watching the new Sony. Wow! What a...

I love this machine!

by   kerrilavertu ,  Nov 7, 2002
Pros: Top Quality, Top Brand, Perfect Picture
Cons: Huge Remote
The Bottom Line: Buy this machine and you won't regret it. It is top of the line and the picture quality makes it worth every penny.
Review: This DVD player is wonderful! First of all, Sony is a great brand anyway, so it makes sense that their DVD player would be top of the line. I am a movie freak, I love to watch movies: new, old, comedy, drama, action, you name it. The picture quality...

Sony's Progressive Scan DVD Unit

by   catstell ,  Feb 17, 2002
Pros: Progressive Scan means great 480p picture, great remote, component output for HDTVs.
Cons: Lightweight.
The Bottom Line: Get this unit if you want progressive scan capability, better build quality and features than most.
Review: Since the DVD market, especially for recording devices, is getting more active, you might want to wait so you can get a "do-it-all" DVD recorder/player. But if you don't want to wait for the usual shakeout to occur, this player should do well mated to an...

Great DVD Player

by   kirbinster ,  Mar 21, 2002
Pros: Execellent unit, Love it.
Cons: Does not play SVCD's
The Bottom Line: Love it!
Review: Great DVD player, have it hooked up to my Mits 65" HD TV. They work great together. It has both wire and optical inputs for sound, which is great. Have had it for 8 months or so with no problems.

The menu system was a little confusing at...

Sony DVP-NS700P DVD Player

by   michelle42280 ,  Apr 23, 2002
Pros: Outstanding picture, dummy instructions
Cons: Not a multi-disc player
The Bottom Line: Simple, easy to use instructions, wonderful design, and lightweight.
Review: Are you looking for a great DVD player. There is one out there and seems as though it has a long life durability. If you really like Sony, a company which is proven just by it's name, you will be extremely happy this time. With it's smooth, sleek...

Easy to love.

by   angryjohnny ,  Jul 17, 2002
Pros: Progressive scan.
Cons: Probably not the greatest DVD player in the world.
The Bottom Line: Excellent? For the price it deserves this kind of praise.
Review: I don't want to kick dirt in a lot peoples eyes here but there is a trend to elevate DVD movies to a level that is beyond reproach. I enjoy the DVD experience to the extent that no rewinding is necessary and static is a thing of the past and the sound...

Very Reliable DVD Player

by   greenguy96 ,  Jul 10, 2002
Pros: Quick-loading, doesn't mess up
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: It has everything you'd want in a DVD player, and the picture quality is amazing.
Review: Since purchasing this DVD player last year, I have yet to find a flaw in it. It loads discs very quickly, and it doesn't jam up like many DVD players are known to do on occasion. Digital entertainment is the next generation in viewing technology, and...

Excellent DVD player

by   winjet ,  Dec 29, 2001
Pros: Great picture quality, ergonomic, aesthetically pleasing
Cons: More expensive with less features than competitor models
The Bottom Line: An above average DVD player - no MP3 or HDCD but the DVD picture quality is superior to competitor models in the same price range.
Review: This is my 3rd DVD player and I've come to the conclusion that there is no point in spending over $300 on a DVD player as these players break down after a few years and with the technology constantly improving - it makes more sense to replace rather than...

Sony DVP-NS700P DVD Player -- Least-Expensive Progressive-Scan Player from Sony

by   radioguy ,  Jul 5, 2001
Pros: Progressive-scan output, matches color of Sony Wega TV's.
Cons: Lightly built, no advanced audio modes.
The Bottom Line: Sony's new DVP-NS700P adds a progressive-scan DVD player to their entry-level line.
Review:

Sony's DVP-NS700P DVD player adds progressive-scan capability to the company's new line of entry-level DVD players. Sony has built the 700P on the same low-profile, lightweight chassis they use for their three other entry-level players, the...

Sony Stamps Out DEFINITION DEPRIVATION- with the DVP-700H DVD/CD Player

by   ASourdough4 ,  Jul 5, 2008
Pros: Very significant improvement in HD Video. Fewer Cables, more lines per frame.
Cons: Not enough connections- VHS has to share Camcorder input. Watch out for overpriced cables.
The Bottom Line: Get yours now! Actually, there is no rush. High Definition was a long time coming; the outcome is worth seeing. With HDMI Cables, not so crowded behind the TV.
Review: Sony 1080p Upscaling DVD Player Model DVP- NS700H/b (Black) or /s (Silver) WHAT IS IT? This is a Player that can make a standard DVD look like it is encoded with 1080p, 1080i, or 720p resolution. Any of these are better than the Standard DVD ...
