Sony DCR-TRV900 Camcorder -- Beginning to See the Light

Date of Review:  Mar 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: An expensive camera by consumer-level standards, but very high quality and packed with useful features. Another milestone on the road to widespread, affordable, broadcast-quality video movie production.
Review: When Sony gets a product right, they're often content to sit back and leave it alone. Such was the case with their very-popular DCR-VX1000 three-chip MiniDV camcorder, released in 1995 but not updated until the 2000 release of the DCR-VX2000...

Afordable 3CCD, Great Quality, Solid price

Date of Review:  Aug 20, 2000
Review: The Sony TRV900 is the most affordable 3CCD DV camcorder in Sony's line. It does not have the supreme quality of it's older siblings such as the VX2000, however it is a solid 3CCD camcorder.

I'm currently shooting a feature length video for...

Sony DCR-TRV900: Pro Picture, Pro Features, Compact Size... Awesome

Date of Review:  Feb 13, 2001
The Bottom Line: This is a 3 ccd camcorder with a gorgeous picture, medium to excellent audio, and compact and intuitive body. See if you can get your hands on one.
Review: I bought this camera almost one and a half years ago. At the time the cost was much higher than it is today. When I first started using this camcorder I was more than impressed. I have owned many cameras before (8mm, Hi8, and Digital8), but I never...

Sony DCR-TRV900 - The Best Mini DV Camcorder

Date of Review:  May 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: You can spend more money and get better looking camcorder, but it is highly unlikely that it will perform better than TRV900.
Review: The Sony DCR-TRV900 MiniDV digital camcorder is not cheap. But it produces arguably the best video quality among MiniDV camcorders, and you can see why ? it provides professional-grade picture using goodies like three CCDs with more than a 1,000,000...

You won't believe quality!!!

Date of Review:  Sep 11, 2000
Review: I bought the PD100A (the same as the TRV900 but a different color and only made of the best components). I'm not going to go over the features; you probably know them by reading about the description page. I absolutely love this camcorder and think...

Broadcast quality video and weight less than 2 lbs?

Date of Review:  Apr 1, 2002
The Bottom Line: Want broadcast quality video that weights in less than 2lbs? Look no further, the Sony DCR-TRV900 is for you.
Review: Over the years, I've owned several Sony camcorders. From Hi8 to the recent Sony DCR-PC115 I just purchased a couple of months ago. Even though I was happy with the DCR-PC115, I find it very hard to hold especially when I am trying to film my newborn...

Great camera, but one MAJOR problem

Date of Review:  Dec 12, 2000
Review: I purchased this product in June of 2000 to celebrate my high school graduation and for use in my aspiration to become a film maker. I think it's a great camera, and has served my purposes well, but one thing is plaguing this model: mini-DV tapes...

A top-notch camera that gets better with extras

Date of Review:  Aug 29, 2000
Review: The TRV-900 is Sony's top-end "consumer" digital video camera, and as such it does its job remarkably well. My 58 year old mother bought this camera to use as her "grandma-cam" and has taken it to the beach, on a cruise to Alaska, and just about...

sony trv-900 is great

Date of Review:  Dec 15, 1999
Review: I bought the sony trv-900 to make some videos and edit them on our computer and my experience with it has been great. Unlike the somewhat more professional canon xl-1, you can just turn it on and shoot your footage without assembling the microphone...

Near broadcast quality finally affordable to the non-pro user

Date of Review:  Feb 27, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you are serious about video shooting there is simply no better choice at this time for a near pro-quality video camera at a relatively affordable budget.
Review: If you have always wanted to produce videos for more then just family re-union or home movies but are not yet established in the world of professional Video production, this is the camera for you.

Sony TRV900 is one of the most affordable...
