Slowest Disc player I have ever seen

Date of Review:  Nov 28, 2007
The Bottom Line: I would only recommend it for movie playback. Even then it is not the best.
Review: I bought this player for both movies and as a CD player. I have it connected via HDMI to a 720P DLP rear projector and coax to a fairly high end audio system.
The picture and sound quality are both quite good (not using the internal DACS...

Works, but has some issues

Date of Review:  Feb 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: I gave this a 4 star rating based more on value. Sony needs to do a lot of work and should offer trades on ALL current Blu-Ray players!
Review: My reference system(S) for this test:
Mitsubishi HC1500 home theater projector
120 inch Elite Cinegrey Screen
Denon/SVS/Nad/Magnepan sound systems

Your First Blu-ray

Date of Review:  Feb 20, 2009
The Bottom Line: When prices come down, this is a great starter model to look for as your first Blu-ray.
Review: To go with the new HDTV, my mom recently bought a Blu-Ray player. She went with the Sony BDP-S300 without doing too much research other than the price. Having said that, I wish she had done a little more research because there are a few issues that...

Fantastic Results Most of the Time

Date of Review:  Oct 18, 2007
The Bottom Line: Stunning visuals and sound but difficulty with less than perfect disks.
Review: I bought this unit from BestBuy to go with my Hitachi Plasma unit via HDMI connection. The results are nothing short of scintillating unless the DVD won't play at all. The problem initially manifested itself with Disk 3 of Planet Earth, a first...

EasyShare M853 is a good option for the beginner or budget-conscious

Date of Review:  Nov 17, 2007
The Bottom Line: Good for beginners and people who want to take basic shots but like to play with frilly scene selections. A lot of bells for the price.
Review: I've been holding out on entering the digital camera world, but I was getting ready to take a trip to some small villages in Guatemala and needed something that could fit into my pocket. My big Cannon EOS Rebel film camera does not exactly fit the...

Review: If you want the slowest blue-ray player on the market buy this one. I bought this blur-ray player for my mom when she got a new tv and we never use it! It takes so long to load the movies.
